Abstract

|
Migraine and insomnia are common neurological disorders. Insomnia is one of the trigger factors of migraine and some migraineurs take a sleep or rest to end a migraine attack. Some studies suggested that there is a strong association between migraine and insomnia. Many epidemiological studies show that insomnia is correlated with migraine and migraine is correlated with insomnia. However, the mechanism and pathophysiology are poorly understood. This article
discusses recent updates in the interrelation between migraine and insomnia and introduces a biobehavioral model,
that may better explain the relationship and interactions between the two diseases.
